Raised in a family celebrating generations of musical talent, Allison took to the organ at a very young age and quickly realized a penchant for sacred and classical music.  Embracing classical piano studies, Allison delved into piano and organ performance, playing in recitals and competitions, as well as accompanying school choirs, church choirs, church congregations, and soloists.  Although her college studies took her away from music, Allison continued to hone her skills as an accompanist and an organist and began teaching piano and directing choirs and praise groups.

Allison has taught, performed, accompanied, directed, and recorded locally as well as in Idaho, Arizona, Texas, Alaska, and Germany, although the Washington native has finally returned home to Vancouver.  She loves working with musicians of all ages and has long been a champion of early-childhood music education.  She has also worked with local senior centers and geriatric care facilities as a proponent of music therapy and a friend to the elderly.  The sweet strains of a familiar hymn have remarkable healing properties: music as a conduit to the spirit and to mental/emotional and subsequently physical peace are undeniable to her.  Her wit, zany antics, and genuine love of sacred, gospel, and classical music have really resonated with her students, congregations, and community.

Beyond her music mantle, Allison plays and coaches soccer and is a freelance writer and editor.  We are delighted to welcome her to Salmon Creek!
