Dear Faithful Friends:

This weekend provide a final fling of a holiday before we are back into the swing of
another season of witness and work in the life of our church.  If you are traveling,
be safe, and if you are in town, come and worship as we will celebrate Holy
Communion at both the 8:30 and 10:00 am services.  Our focus passages will be James
1: 17-27 and Mark 7: 1-8, 14-15, and 21-23.  Please take a moment to read these and
ask the question 'what matters?' regarding the understanding of my faith and how I
live my life?

This Sunday will also have posted in the narthex a listing of small groups that will
be gathering for our FAITHFOCUS fall series beginning Sunday, Sept. 19th.  We hope
and expect everyone to find a group so we can grow together in God's love and
learning.  This six week series will have us giving a good look at the essential
beliefs of our faith: God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, Church, Discipleship, Life After Life.  
Stronger beliefs lead to stronger behaviour of our faith.

There are 2 Sundays left for you to be part of 'Choir Today'!   This is where folks
gather each Sunday, 8 am, to practice a song/hymn to be sung at the 8:30 am
service.  Like to sing?  Come and join 'Choir Today.'

WE still have need for a Teacher/Substitute for Pre-School/5th grade.  Not a weekly
commitment, and class room assistance is available.  Questions about this can be
directed to Kandi White or Susie Pervere at 573-3111.  

WE are also trying to find one or two other individuals/couple who would be willing
to Host or Co-Host a small group for our Fall six-week series (beginning Sept.
19th).  
 A training session is being planned on Tuesday, Sept. 14th, 8-8:30 pm at the
church.  Please call the church office or attend the meeting of you might be
interested.

On Sunday, September 12th, we will begin our Church School classes for both children
and adults.  We will also be sponsoring our Mini Muffin Cafe from 9 am to Noon in
the Family Ministries Center.  Proceeds from your Free will offering will go for the
Early Response Team of the Pacific Northwest United Methodist Conference to use in
stocking a tool trailer.  We have members from our church who are currently
receiving training to serve on the ERT.  They will be sharing information at both
services as part of our larger mission outreach.
Come for great food and fellowship and give generously to the important work of our
larger UM church!
ALSO, helpers for the Mini Muffin are needed between 9 am and 1 pm.  Got some time
to assist with serving, etc?  Give Cindy Harrington a call at 574-8241.

News from our DaySchool -  The school will be closed by Friday, Sept. 3rd and the
6th for Teacher Training .  There are still opening for children in our age 3
through pre-K class.  If signed up before Sept. 15th the $50.00 registration fee
will be waived.

We have each been blessed to be a blessing to each other!   Thanks for the bunches
of blessings you each share with so many others!!
